Creating Effective Surveys
Creating Effective Surveys is an instructor-led workshop on developing telephone and web-based surveys for information gathering, formative assessment and decision-making. This 2.5 hour workshop includes an overview of surveys, guidelines derived from real-world experience, and hands-on survey design and development. The essence of the workshop is the design of survey questions that can drive decisions.
After completing the workshop, participants will be able to:
- Describe the key design elements of an effective survey.
- Describe guidelines for survey development.
- Complete the step-by-step Survey Research Plan.
- Develop a survey to measure parent satisfaction with school district communication practices.
